- Senior dogs (over the age of six) make great companions for people who would love a pet but need something a little more relaxed than a young puppy. Older dogs would love a couple of walks during the day to smell the flowers and the rest of the time they are OK with just hanging out with you.
- Senior dogs are great to have at work if your business allows. They provide companionship and that comfort of having them there when you are having one of those days. Also it is a great way for others to see how wonderful senior dogs can be.
- Seniors for seniors. Senior dogs are great for older folks. Just walking the dog is exercise and also for many a great way to socialize with others at the dog park or on group walks. Two keys to staying healthy as we age are to exercise and socialize.
- Many senior dogs are overlooked at the time of adoption. Unfortunately many never do get a home.
- Imagine if you were homeless when you get old. Just looking for a warm place to sleep and some good food. A senior dog would love that.
- You know immediately how big they are going to get. They are already there.
- Most senior dogs are already housetrained and can be quite well behaved.
- A touch of grey hair on the face is very distinctive.
- Senior dogs can be very good with children and other pets. They could be therapy dogs with their maturity and wisdom.
- You would be a true hero to that dog for the rest of their life. Nice job.
Take care and have a wonderful day.
