Used to work great, but our last collar only lasted 4 months

This collar usually works exceedingly well for us. However, I've noticed our dog has started to scratch and it's only been about 4 months. He's received 2 baths in that time, and we took the collar off each time. So frustrating.
Got both ticks and fleas with Serresto collar

We’ve tried the Seresto collar for our ACD-mix for a few years now and have been very disappointed - we live in a very rural area in northern NY and hike about 3-4 thru the woods daily. Put a new collar on in early April and started seeing living ticks on my dog almost from the start - and just noticed she’s been itching last week...and sure enough...found a couple of live fleas. She does not go in the water very often, either. But, in reading the Seresto literature, found that dogs “swimming” once a month (or being bathed) can reduce collar’s effectiveness to 5 months - that’s quite a drop. Mentioned to our veterinarian and she said she’s heard from other clients in similar areas having the same issues. Also had issues in the past with Advantix and Frontline not working. Not quite sure what we r going to do in the future. If your dog isn’t active and doesn’t go near water or trails, I guess Seresto might work for you.
